Just a nice little problem that came up in my game yesterday. What is the status of the white group?

White looks alive to me because there's an eye around R16 and miai between dealing with the upper right and T15. The most confusing attack I can find is black S19, threatening ko, but white can respond with S18 and be fine.

Yes, I think that's right. During the game I misread and thought black could get a ko. I think maybe this is the most interesting line:

If Black is unaware of :w2:, :w4:, :w6:, and :w10:, he might think that :b1: would kill.

If one cannot see that white can live he might assume that white is dead

Well in the game I played the block at R18, which was ok anyway since I was winning and it makes some points (Bill: how many points? 4 or so?), but afterwards I realized I could've played elsewhere.
