online go magazine

I've been digging for about an hour now and I can't seem to find this thing. I'm beginning to wonder if I dreamed it up...

Earlier this year, I seem to remember an announcement for a Go publication that was an online magazine. It had a pretty slick presentation with animated page turns and a nice minimalist theme. The content of the articles was pretty great. They had some talk about using QR codes with links to SGFs in future issue so that you could follow along with your phone if you liked.

Unfortunately, terms like "online go magazine" are way too ambiguous to return any results. Does anyone know the name of this elusive publication or am I just making things up?

Thanks!

I'm not crazy! :D

It appears as if I was thinking of Formation Magazine. I stumbled across a reference to it here: http://www.usgo.org/news/2013/12/new-go ... e-formats/

Here's the first issue, though it's not as slick as I remember: http://www.formationmag.com/vol_1_iss_1/front_page/

This is definitely the publication I was thinking of. I figured I'd reply in case someone hasn't seen it. I enjoyed the content.

Yes, I remember enjoying this article about the OGS/Nova merger. Thanks for the reminder :-)

<edit>

But that’s not proof that you’re not crazy — you could be crazy nevertheless

If I try to visit that website, my antivirus pops up showing a warning it is infected.

Which one are you referring to with "that website"?

I run GNU/Linux, so I don't notice this problem. I tried it out on a Windows machine and didn't get any reports of a virus. Maybe they've been blacklisted somewhere? The domain doesn't seem terribly active aside from the owner's blog.

I use Firefox and Avast antivirus (and some more).
Firefox does not even allow me to visit formationmag dot com. Firefox reports that it can not connect to that website (not available, no connection or other).
Avast reports virus.

My second attempt resulted in the same non-connection and the same virus warning.
Just saying.

I used Chrome and Avast on the Windows box and it didn't complain. Better safe than sorry, I suppose. I believe the author's blog is a wordpress instance. Perhaps it's been attacked.

No telling these days.

The site formationmag dot com appears to be defunct. With JS disabled it loaded for me as an iFrame trying to redirect to GoDaddy, in other words it's a parked domain (no content).

*shrugs*

It does look like it's down for me now as well. Sad to see such a neat resource fizzle out so quickly.
