Life In 19x19

I've attempted to download and install this several times. The program launches - I see the program open with the background and clickable buttons for Console, Chat and Messages but they do nothing and nothing displays on the screen.

Is anyone else having this issue or know of a workaround? I'm using Window's 8.1, could that be the issue? I know it was working for me at some point several months ago but I'm perplexed about this.

Yesterday, I had several disconnections on IGS. One game got interrupted in an early stage, and I couldn't resume. Later I saw that it was recorded as if I had resigned... Maybe there were some server issues yesterday(?).

I tired again this morning and no luck. I think its a problem with the updater - it starts, runs the update then a blank program. I've tried running the .exe as administrator even so I'm not sure what else to do. Not sure why the most current version isn't the one I downloaded from there site - because if it is the updater causing the issue that would circumvent the problem.
