Exciting game and perhaps some material to be a classic. (I'm not able to spot the mistakes, though...)

I wonder if Iyama counted that resolving the ko gives a win by half a point.

Hard to count that as it seems to me that white n7 was a mistake and should be l12 so Iyama punished immediately with k12. If white does that I get a 0.5 white win but maybe I missed something.

Which huge group are you referring to? I thought black might lose the d12 group when I was replaying the game, but he managed to save it in the end.

I think the adventurous move 15 is a good sign for Iyama's go. His recent title losses may be encouraging him to experiment with new moves. It nearly didn't work out in this game, but I think he's strong enough to integrate new ideas into his play and end up a better player in the long run.

In sente! I thought the way it lived with those two 1st line descents being sente was rather amusing.

The large knight's move from the 4th to the 5th line ( ) is not really adventurous or all that novel. Consider the surrounding White sphere of influence. Because of the White stones on the third line on the left side, Black does not expect to make territory there. Thus an extension to the 3d line instead of the 5th does not make much sense. And considering the White strength on the bottom, a direct invasion there does not make sense, either. Thus, Black's aim is to reduce White's potential territory. One obvious candidate move is the boshi at E-05 ( ). Had Iyama played there nobody would have said boo. Given that, makes miai of E-05 and C-07 ( ). That miai strategy may be a bit advanced, but it is not all that advanced. (I confess that I would have played E-05 myself. Ah well! )

What seemed adventurous to me was the attachment at C-08 ( ) because that allowed White to split Black in two and led to a difficult fight for Black.

I'll agree but it was unusual enough that pro commentary was surprised by it. "[15] そこですか！！"

The major notes from the game at the end by Tsuruyama 7p.

Move 39 was impressive.
Maybe move 52 was better to extend than one space jump.
Bump at 55 was a good move that reversed the attack a bit.
Move 77, pro is curious why black didn't cut at c18.
Move 125, thick move that might mean black thinks he's ahead.
Move 144, he thinks a play at q2 would be more interesting.

A few other possibilities for ko in top right that he's not sure about.

This amused me, but it is Japan, so I'm not surprised.

This is why we need more game commentary here. So I can decide dinner.
