Hello Everyone,

Richard Hunter here. I’ve been lurking and reading posts on this forum for some time. Finally submitting my first test post to see how it works.

I live in the UK and currently play as BGA 2 dan, though a long time ago, I received a BGA 4 dan certificate. I am perhaps best known as a go book author, with books published by Slate and Shell and also by SmartGo Books. Actively using and testing Go Books and SmartGo for the Mac as well as Go Books and Kifu for iPad. Lived in Japan for many years.

Well hi Richard! Long time, no see! Must have been 40 years since we last played together.

Hi Richard,

Your "Counting liberties & capturing races" remains a reference work in the Western go literature.

Many of us moved here after the forum activity at SL died down ...

Hi Richard

We've played each other quite a lot recently.

I'll probably see you at the Three Peaks later this year. I can't make IoM, since it clashes with my gran's 100th.

Welcome!

I've also read your book, "Counting liberties & capturing races".

It's an excellent piece of work, though I must say that I have yet to have internalized it completely. It's one of those books that I've read through, and keep telling myself, I've got to go back and read this again to get it all in my head. That's not because the book is too complicated; on the contrary, the information is so useful that I haven't learned it from other sources.

I look forward to seeing many posts from you here on the forum!

Also a fan of your cross cut workshop book, and have plans to pick up the monkey jump one.

Welcome.
