What is this old book?

It says Printed in Occupied Japan. It's the mustiest thing I've ever had the misfortune to smell.
I'm thankful for information about it!

It's Beginners' Go Lectures by Nogami Akira (a pen-name), one of the most distinguished go journalists, and Kato Shin 8-dan (though given here as "vice-Meijin") provided the technical scrutiny.
It's one of many such books. This is Vol. 2, and RJ will be pleased to note that this one begins with the concept of connection (and then cuts). Vol. 1 was even more basic than that, and Vol. 3 dealt with joseki.

I did a quick Google search and looked on Sensei's and can't find anything in relation to it (reviews, forum discussions, translations, etc). Is it well-known in Japanese Go circles?
I suppose that there must be hundreds of Japanese Go books that are virtually unknown outside Japan.
Of course, with exception of a fair proportion of members on lifein19x19.
By the way, I got a copy of Appreciating Famous Games from the same seller in nice condition, an excellent piece of translation and a great book, and I hope it gets a reprint one day. The prices have simmered in the last few years but they still make £25 or more for a good copy.
