Life In 19x19

It looks like GoGameGuru is a releasing a new large format style book. Invincible and John Fairbairn's Go Seigen series (Kamakura, 9-dan Showdown) have become favorites in my own collection and this looks like another trove: https://gogameguru.com/introducing-rele ... gogameguru

That looks like an interesting addition to anyone's collection. The quality of the commentary during the match was very high and accessible even to a kyu level player. With two years of editing, I have very high hopes for the final product!

625 pages? If this number indicates something, we might get a thorough analysis indeed:)

Can't wait! I am going to make sure to pre-order my copy as well.


Now that I have a board (not a good one, but one I can still use) I love playing through professional games so this book will be hours of fun!

There are two good ones by the Nihon Kiin publishing available in Japanese as paper copies and e-gobooks.

The free ebook collections that logan assembled are great if you just want an easy way to play through the games.

Large format indeed. The mailman needed a hand truck to get it to my front door. This thing is a telephone book.

I'm pretty excited to dig into this weekend.

The online sample is fantastic, with incredibly detailed and clear commentary. I probably have too many books of pro games already, but this may be too hard to resist.

did you get the paperback or hardback version? If you got the paperback one, what do you think of the quality of the binding? - i.e. is it going to last well? I'm very tempted with the hardback version just because it's rare to get that option in Go books.

I have the paperback. The binding seems fine, but of course it's way too early to tell if it will stand up over time.

Received my copy as well, it is indeed quite a large book! Also fond of the LaTeX font and design, which is eyecandy for me.
