What is the best play for both sides after this?

I wouldn't guarantee this as beset for both, but this is a good starting point:

Black gets the corner and white a wall. If white 8 is hane to the left of 7 black connects and if white connects then black cuts at 8 and should have the better of the fight (so of course nearby position can change this). After 8 connect black could connect the pincer to the corner on the top, or extend with his left side stone and allow white to split there. It's quite a thin way of playing, but speedy and if white attacks too hard black can point out that white's wall doesn't actually have 2 eyes either.

If white blocks with 2 below then black can connect. It's low but if we continue like joseki the exchange of the marked stone for 3 is a little bad aji keshi for white.

At least up to here it seems like black will catch one of the two groups.
