Does anyone know the location of the US Go Congress in the year 2012 (NOT 2011) ?

Rumor at Congress was that the most serious interest seems to be from Boston. Atlanta was mentioned also.

But these are not firm. If neither of them comes to fruition, we may need someplace else.

lol I'm not supposed to tell you this but it at the moment with the help of the aga it might be in birmingham I'm working on a schedule for the tournament if we don't get it 2012 then we will 2013.

I heard something about it taking place in North Carolina. I'm probably definitely wrong here, but I can't remember where I heard it.

I got some new info. We in Alabama had some leadership changes in our clubs, and we had a power and money hungry leader who wanted it in Birmingham so he could have the $10,000 for him self. We have now allied with atlanta go clubs leader, and he has agreed to hold the 2012 or 2013 if we help him work out all the small stuff. Though it has been a while since we have talked to him about this we will be talking and working out the details this summer.

That is... not confidence inspiring. :/

Please inform him that it is customary for him to come to the prior year's congress and present his proposal at the AGA business meeting there. Such proposals usualy include - at least - a specific location and an approximate budget.

Personally, I like the idea of Atlanta. It has a big airport, and I've been wanting to see their aquarium ( only whale sharks in captivity outside of Asia ).

Yes. And it's looking probable that 2013 will be in chicago or Madison.

2014 may be a joint production with the CGA, in Canada. Vancouver and Toronto were talked about as possibilities.

Ehhh. Was kind of hoping for Boston. There needs to be one in New York City...

There's still plenty of time for you to volunteer to run one in either of those places.

None of the ones currently on the list really make me want to visit though Chicago could be fun. I could use the pizza.

Unless we can get a super deal in Madison, I vote for Chicago.
From the west coast, traveling to Chicago is a full day. A 4-hour flight, 2 hours time differential, waiting in airports, and transit to/from airports takes up a whole day.
