Am I mixing it up with the de Havilland book, or did this go for about $500 last time there was one avaiable?

The de Havilland book, which I once thirsted for and now have, did go for about $500 last time there was one available. I don't know of a Cheshire being bought or sold though one must have. Only copies online are reprints from this year. I am looking for the old one.

I know you're probably looking for a physical copy of the original book, but just in case, here's a link to a (legal) scanned version:

Thanks. Indeed, I am looking for the old dusty original.

I forget what I paid for my copy on Ebay, but I suspect it was in that range. I know that HKA had previously paid less for a probably better copy on Ebay a few months before. Those are the only Cheshires I remember seeing for sale any time recently.
My copy lacks a dust jacket, as do my copies of The Game of Go [Smith] and The Game of Wei-chi [Pecorini and Shu]. I would gladly pay several hundred each for the dust jackets alone. On the other hand, my Cheshire came with both the two-page insert on "Go-Bang" [go-moku] and the magazine article that Cheshire had written about go.
Incidentally, anyone who might have a spare copy of Cheshire to offer Aokun might also have a few of the early go publications by Witt and Robinson and the like. If so I am always ready to bid.
