<edit, a few days later>
Below, now hidden, is my first idiotic knee-jerk reaction. It was a total mistake. Please see my comment further down for my apology and explanation. </edit>

That doesn't seem very fair to me, Bonobo. The poster is a member of this community, made a little web game, and wanted to share it. I don't see anything wrong with their post (except perhaps that it could have included a little more information).

Hi dfan,
It seems in this case, unfortunately, different platforms can give vastly different first impressions...

Embarrassment continued … pls scroll further down. </edit>
Of course I followed the link … those offers of Tsumego collections for sale reminded me strongly of those I’ve seen posted by a notorious blogspammer I’ve seen <cough> elsewhere </cough>. Always offers a bit here, a bit there, then links to … purchase Tsumego collections. Links in games, links in forums (fora? I think forae, because “in”), etc., etc., many user names, different blogs, same stuff.

Maybe it’s just me, idiosyncratic b/c involved in a few different Go communities. My sincere apology if I’d (unexpectedly) be mistaken.

Is that real money or in-game fake money?

It is in-game fake money used to purchase in-game fake equipment and in-game fake books to increase your in-game fake strength.

@Dragonstone, please accept my apology. I think (actually hope/wishful thinking) I’m not such an idiot usually.
I didn’t realise that those Tsumego etc. there were PART OF THE GAME You should’ve heard me curse when I realised it …
I’ve already explained above why I reacted so idio(syncra)tically, co-moderating a Go place where one certain character repeatedly posted blog spam to their diverse URLs, selling Tsumego etc. collections.
I believed that the game was just a trick to lure people there and on order to SELL those Tsumego etc. collections in the lower part of the window.
I jumped to conclusions without verifying this, and now I realise that those buttons are part of the game (which, BTW, I find enjoyable now that I tried it; earning lots on ¥¥ in the other tab.).
I am sorry. I’m embarrassed. It was a totally stupid mistake to quickly and wrongly accuse you, and I made a fool of myself. I do have an explanation for why I didn’t spend time to verify my suspicion but … not an excuse. Sorry.

p.s.: Maybe I can atone for it just a little bit by posting the link to the FB Go group.
p.p.s.: Abbitte im DGoB-Forum folgt.
