A wonderul movie that could easily be transposed into the game of go that i've seen recently :
The miracle of the crybaby Shottan
Anyone have seen it ?
Also interestingly, from wikipedia, the fact that the JSA allows strong amateur players to become professional through another path (the "Professional Admission Test") does not seem to exist in go...

I'd be interested in seeing it, if only I could find the DVD (or even streaming). Looks like it might be awhile before that happens
I happened to bump into it on a flight to Asia, so if you fly over there... you might get a chance to watch it
I don't know a thing about Shogi but the professional association, the board, everything was so similar to the Go world that it makes it very easy to connect to the story... and also this being based on a true story was really inspirational and touching.

There was an entire anime series about shogi that came out not long ago, called March Comes In Like a Lion if I'm not mistaken. I haven't watched it but heard it was quite good!
I should look for something about go...

It's very good, I suggest people to give it a try. It also takle some heavy subjects with maturity. And it's visually interesting.
