Former world titleholder Kong Jie, who quite abruptly withdrew from competitions a few years ago, can be seen from CITIC team photo. Not sure what his role is.

The game starts at 11am China time on Apr 15th. 2.5 hours for each player with 5 times 1 minute byo-yomi.
Fast games are NHK/CCTV time settings.

Yeah I also see Kong Jie in the team photo, not sure if he's going to play in future rounds

Kong Jie is on the official roster so we should see him play this season. Although he may be more a backup to his younger teammates.

Thanks Gomoto - for this game, move 40 I would probably play at G6; AI thinks move 71 less 16%, so it may prefer hane to give up 4 stones, then move 73 should still hane I guess; move 97 may make white feel confused; move 102 maybe should just reduce at E12, in the game white chooses to make a living in the black territory, black is compensated by attacking outside and entering the white corner, white is not profitable in this trade and thus falling behind.

I have updated the results for the first round above.

The 16th Changqi Cup is currently underway. It is a tournament organized by the Ing Foundation so the Ing rules are applied in this tournament. (It is famous by the concept time equivalents to points under Ing rules, you can trade 2 points for additional 20 minutes thinking time (twice opportunities) when the main time 3 hours are finished and no byo-yomi). The semi finals of this tournament will be held in the same time and location with the World Collegiate Championship during summer and this year will go to Sydney Australia. I went to the one in Toronto 3 years ago and had a chance to watch Changqi Cup. I also played a 2-stone game with Lian Xiao, who said my fighting and reading skills were not bad after the game.

The results of the prelims can be referred to https://gotoeveryone.k2ss.info/cn/cc/16

The first round of the main tournament is now broadcasting:

Liao Yuanhe Vs Xia Chenkun (Winner of this bracket will play Mi Yuting, last year winner)
Xie Erhao Vs Tu Xiaoyu
Yang Dingxin Vs Tang Weixing
Ke Jie Vs Yu Zhiying
Li Qincheng Vs Fan Yin
Fan Yunruo Vs Zhao Chenyu
Lian Xiao Vs Xu Jiayang
Shi Yue Vs Chen Xian
Tong Mengcheng Vs Xu Haohong (qualified from Taipei)
Jiang Weijie Vs Hu Yaoyu
Gu Zihao Vs Xie Ke
Fan Tingyu Vs Li Weiqing
Zhou Ruiyang Vs Hu Yuefeng
Chen Yaoye Vs Tan Xiao (Winner of this bracket will play Tuo Jiaxi, last year run-up)

Source with some photos: https://home.yikeweiqi.com/#/gonews/detail/24510?type=1

Some games that we can follow:

Ke Jie Vs Yu Zhiying: https://home.yikeweiqi.com/#/live/room/17321/1/14284177
China's #1 played China's female #1 - Ke Jie also withdrew Yu last year and won by 1 point. Ke Jie played a few online games with Choi Jeong recently and Choi Jeong performed well against strong male players in Samsung Cup & LG Cup. Can Yu Zhiying also prove herself?

Lian Xiao Vs Xu Jiayang: https://home.yikeweiqi.com/#/live/board/17337
Changqi Cup is conflicted in schedules with the Globis Cup U-20 tournament in Japan. Xu Jiayang was the winner of Globis Cup last year while he is in Changqi Cup this year.

Tu Xiaoyu Vs Xie Erhao: https://home.yikeweiqi.com/#/live/board/17339
Tu Xiaoyu is another U-20 rising star. He also can not make it to Globis Cup because of the schedules. While the other three Globis Cup players Ding Hao (this year's CCTV Cup fast game winner), Chen Zijian, Wang Zejin do not have Changqi Cup tasks.

Jiang Weijie Vs Hu Yaoyu https://home.yikeweiqi.com/#/live/board/17342
The veteran Hu Yaoyu wrote some excellent Go blogs and game analysis, so I am very interested in watching his games and post game analysis.

I seem to recall Ke Jie said some pretty critical things of Yu Zhiying after they played together in a pair go competition and she made lots of bad moves including the game losing blunder. So it would be embarrassing/inconsistent if he didn't beat her easily.

Edit: he did win, looked smooth to me.

Yea it was a bit embarrassing and unpleasant for Yu Zhiying in the Pair Go tournament last year. I heard she would team with Mi Yuting this year instead as she is now afraid of Ke Jie... This game looks like she still has some shadows and played a few slow moves in the mid game. There are some female's world championship next week hopefully we can see her best then.

I also follow the other games between world championships:

Tan Xiao Vs Chen Yaoye https://home.yikeweiqi.com/#/live/room/17326/1/14297093

Yang Dingxin Vs Tang Weixing https://home.yikeweiqi.com/#/live/board/17341
