I didn't get many chances to go to the movies as a kid, so Schwarzenegger was the guy other kids talked about, and I'd barely heard about R. E. Howard; I only saw Conan years later on TV, and I started with the second one. However, I did get to see Miyazaki's Conan on TV. So... when I think of Conan, more so in a Japanese context, my mind doesn't see oiled Mr. Universe muscles, but a kid in clean lines jumping from impossible heights and Polinesian canoes.
