In my last comment on the intro and guidelines board (viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1006), I wrote "paging kirkmc" and then realized there's a potential feature here. You could put a tag in the post, and it would actually page the user--perhaps they get a direct message, or the post is somehow highlighted for them when they log in.
Right now, you can always do a PM. The new feature would just make the process straightforward, and thereby allow high-demand users to be annoyed all the time.

But I have a feeling there would be an uprising if we tried to implement it, unless we allow people to opt out, which kind of ruins its utility if you're never sure it's going to work.
