Random Question: Deluxe

Okay, I've seen this term thrown around all over the place. But I saw it a lot when I was growing up because I collected Power Ranger toys, and the all the Megazords were proclaimed "Deluxe." I never really understood why. I suppose I could look this up on Google, but I thought it might make for an interesting conversation.
Question: What makes something deluxe?

What makes something EXTREME to the MAX! ?
de luxe, literally, 'Of luxury', is the french root of the word, and it means something luxurious or ornate, and in recent years, marketting has made anything that has an added geewhizdoodlebanger 'deluxe'. Usually, deluxe model blahdibloos have some added 'tweak' that the originators of an item decided to include for several extra dollars.
It's all marketting, to make you pay more for things you never really needed.

Thanks! Now it all makes sense as to why those Megazords cost like....five million dollars.

- It washes your car AND waxes your wheels.
- It gives you enough soda for you to drain half of it into the sink and enough fries to feed a village.
- It contains DVD extra extras and further-behind-the-scenes that you won't watch anyways.
