I'm willing to bet that he's happy.

Another thing, just because the parents are good at something, doesn't mean that the kids will be good at it or even like it. For example, my mom is spectacular at playing the piano and my brothers and I all know how to play the piano yes, but we're nowhere near her level.

The best bet is for him to teach his kids, and then leave it up to them.
