Airport magnetic board issues?

Hey all, I'm traveling on a domestic flight in a couple of days. I have the portable magnetic go board from YMI that I'd like to take along to study on the trip, and I'm worried about security issues. I believe magnets are banned carry-on luggage, but maybe weak magnets aren't? I'm traveling on a company's dime, so I won't be able to check in any luggage. So, my question is, has anyone here had any experience with magnetic boards with regards to TSA? I'm worried what the scanner person is going to think, seeing a magnetic mat and two clumps of smaller magnets.

Don't know if this matters, but I'm planning on stuffing the roll-up board and stones into my backpack for carry-on.

I've flown with magnetic boards many times, and it never occurred to me to even think about it. I don't think they will be taken from you.

I've flown with a goboard with magnetic stones inside Europe once and it wasn't a problem. But perhaps the TSA has different rules...

Taiwan
USA

All this just for a magnetic board

I too can confirm minor trouble in Europe - when going with your carry on through the screen every magnet shows up, tightly cramped in their box.

So at least when you place your carry on the screening machine take the board out and show it to them in advance. Remember everybody knows chess, "magnetic board for a game similar to chess" is much better than "magnetic go board" - "go where?????".

No experience out of Europe, sorry.

I have never had a problem with a magnetic travel go set in my carry on luggage. The only time I was asked to show it was once in Canada. :)

That article is unbelievable! I would like to quote just a few sentences. I promise that this is really not from a bad romantic novel:
"I'm going to run my hands up your thighs, and then feel your buttocks, then I'm going to reach under you until I meet --"

"Resistance?" I interrupted.

"Yes, resistance. Do you want to go into a private room?" he asked.

"Are you asking me into a private room?" I said. He looked confused. I said, "No, here is fine."

He felt me up good, but not great. It was not in any way the best pat-down I've ever received.

On a related note, can anyone recommend a decent magnetic go board available in the UK? I've seen one that looks quite good on the US Amazon site, but it's not available over here.

My cheapest magnetic set is actually SEK 200:-, see http://mohsart.se/search.php?search_que ... derway=asc but maybe not decent enough? ("Decent" in not a good way to define what you're looking for.)

As for London Open, I can bring virtually anything I have in stock, if I know in advance.
Whether I will or won't sell at a large scale at LOGC is not yet decided (it's in BGAs hands), but if I will I will most likely do so in cooperation with Pentangle Puzzles; if I won't, I will still bring some items that don't compete with the "large scale", or "main" seller.

Is there a website/thread about the London Open? I've never heard of it, and have googled without success.
