It's time for the AGA's board elections. Is anyone from the L19 community planning to run this year?

I'm voting for oak this year. I thought pine's "evergreen" policy was a disaster.

Is there a page for 2011 elections? All I can find is the page for last year:
http://usgo.org/board/election.html

The website has not been updated, unfortunately. This alternate link was posted in the eJournal:

Thank you, I must have missed that. I emailed
elections@usgo.org last night but hadn't heard back yet.
OK, I'm going to go for it. Is there anyone here living in the central region that would like to nominate me? Otherwise I know a number of people IRL that could.

That's silly. Why wouldn't they just post the page on the AGA's own website?

Why would you expect anything not silly?

Oh yeah... the president fired the webmaster, so I guess no one knows how to manage the website now.
I updated the site with the new page.

The exact answer is this.
Following vash3g's run as webmaster,
a call for a volunteer webmaster went out in November of 2010. I volunteered for the new webmaster position and near the end of February I was informed that I had been the successful candidate.
I was trained and began work.
I did approximately two months of vaguely competent work (March, April). Then my personal life got amazingly complicated. I essentially stopped all AGA webmaster work and new requests sat and gathered dust in the webmaster’s inbox (most of May). I formally resigned as AGA webmaster June 1st.
A new call for a volunteer webmaster went out on June 5th.So, this particular failing isn’t some ambiguous bureaucratic failing of the AGA. No, this failing is specifically and completely my own. The AGA gave me a shot, and I flaked out on them. I feel really lousy about it.

I didn't realize that you were the new webmaster for a while. I missed that bit of news.
Don't feel bad. Volunteering is really hard when you've still got your own life to run.
I assisted Roy for a while a couple years back, and then got too busy too. I still have access, so I help when I can, but I just can't commit to full duties. But I was never on the webmaster mailing list, so I'm usually in the dark as to what needs to be done, else I might try to help more from time to time.

I don't think the page has been updated yet, but I'm now officially a candidate.
So, vote for me.

I plan to write some sort of position piece. Edward Zhang's is great, I don't think I can top that, and I hope he wins the eastern seat:
http://ngol.us/Board.htmlAlso, this year, I'll be emailing chapters in my region to ask for votes. Seems like a super obvious thing to do, but it didn't occur to me last year. I was kicking myself when Lisa said that's what she did, hehe.
Although, at the moment, it appears I'll be unopposed. I'd encourage someone else to run, too; multiple choices can only be good for the organization.
Also, @rubin, thanks for letting us know what happened. IMO, there should be more than one person webmastering-- exactly because things like that happen, and the organization needs to plan for them, and so that if that happens you still have someone who knows his way around the site internals.

If you notice the other site gets updated, just message me and I'll update the AGA site (but going out-of-town for the weekend).
