I think you'll find it doesn't 'always' take you to the same page.
If you click on it three times within the space of a few minutes you probably will go to the same page because our pages have been cached on a server which is closer to you. This is to make the site faster for you.
So you're not talking to our server directly. If you were, it would would change the page more often.

I'd call that a bug. Dynamically generated pages, like the random page should not be cached. So you should fix your cache configuration.

Well I don't call it a bug, I call it something that stops us having to spend more money on hosting.
We're doing this for free and everyone at Go Game Guru would rather spend their time writing useful articles about Go.
We've removed the button, the link still works as is for anyone who wants to use it.

Look how for example xkcd does it. They have a special subdomain for their dynamic content like the random button. Then they can cache the main domain.
But I'm really surprised that you're site is big enough to worry about such stuff.

Thanks.
I might look into it one day. At the moment there are plenty of things that are more important to spend limited time on.
