I've lost before by more, but last time we played at 2 stones, I think I lost by 1.5 points. I won't make that mistake this time.

when i played strong amature from kiwon he played that high opening.
i will try that on kirby and see how he will react.

Exactly the move I hoped to see! Keep your spirits up! You and I both seem to perform several stones better when we're feeling confident. Don't avoid complications, and play a handicap game that Kageyama would be pleased to see!

Thanks, Chew. Yes, I do think that emotions play a role in the game. I will try to remain confident. :-) I think that you play better when you are confident, as well. :-)

The paradox is, if I play well, I wonder if my opponent is trying. If I play poorly, then, well, I'm playing poorly. :-)

Either way, I'm looking forward to this game. I hope that a complicated situation arises.

Don't fall the trap of discounting your victories. MW is not the sort to take it easy on ANYONE, and if he played without thinking, that's still a totally real mistake, just the same as any other misread.

I look forwards to seeing your play! I've been messing around more with influence and aji, and your play seems like a great way to learn more. Enjoy the game!

I think the fuseki is a tricky part of the game of go. You have to figure out what you think is big.

I don't want to give Magicwand the "flow", so I will approach his corner, just as he approached mine.

when i played 3 stone handy i was afraid to play the corner becasue of fear of his influence growing.
i guess kirby is not afraid.. he has more guts than i do i guess.

I don't know these josekis that well, but who cares about joseki? I want to play this move, because it feels natural. I want to help my corner stone, and grab territory. This feels like the correct move.

If it goes likes this, where would you play? I like (c), but (b) also looks nice to me.
