tygem client doesn't load?

I downloaded and installed the tygem client on my windows 7 64-bit, and when I try to log into a room I can't get past the "download room info" page.
I tried reinstalling as well as running as administrator/ in compatibility mode, it just doesn't work. Anyone else is having that problem?

From that screenshot, it appears to be freezing at the point when the client program running on your computer tries to contact the server to receive instructions as to which server/room to connect to and to determine if there is an upgrade available for the client program. Would suggest that you check your firewall and tcpdump/wireshark the communications....you might be blocking the client program's access to the servers.
