Folks,

I am pleased to report a new AGA-rated tournament in Southern California, this one generously sponsored by the fast-growing networking company TRENDnet (http://www.trendnet.com) This tournament, which TRENDnet is supporting annually through 2013, will take place Dec. 3-4, in Alhambra, CA. Full details are available at the tournament website, http://trendnetgo2011.webstarts.com/.

 Many thanks to Kevin Chao for this big win for the go community.

Their site has way too much MBA drivel, IMHO. But if they support go, I like them anyway.

I really want to start going to tournaments here in the US so I will try to go. One thing, I noticed here in the US it is not very common to have a live player list so you can see which ranks people that registered have.
This can really hold people back from registering since they don't want to travel and find out there is no players around their own rank at the tournament.

It's hard to have a live player list that is useful. I suppose you could see who's confirmed but we have monthly tournaments in Seattle, and I often decide the morning of whether I will go.

Since this is a longer two day tournament, you should contact the tournament director and see if he can let you know. Just remember that many people may sign up late.

Coderboy, feel free to get in touch with Kevin if you want some reassurance on this point, but there should be no shortage of players around your rank. We have lots of players in So Cal.
