A few days ago I found an unexpected app at the android market. It's called "Go scoring camera" and it's basically that, an app which scores a board through a picture. So, you take a picture of a board, it uploads the image to a server and gives you the result.
I've tested it with a couple of my games and a couple of pro games and the results match the real scores. BUT -with capital letters- you have to check the interpretation of the stone position because it's a mess if stones are badly placed on the intersections. And, it's not free, it costs around 3.4 euros and 4.5$...
Here you have the link to the android market for the trial version
And, just in case you want to check how it works, I created a small review on my blog.

Re: Go Scoring camera app
I knew some related project was waiting on the internet, something called GoCam... but I didn't expect it to have been already released at the android market. Surprisingly, I found very few comments on it on the net... so that was the main reason for the review.
Well, I also wanted to test the screen-recording software on my new device

Re: Go Scoring camera app
I downloaded that app, and it just crashes when you try to take a picture. I have an Archos 43, which is technically not supported by the Google Market, but it should have everything it needs to run.

Re: Go Scoring camera app
Try contacting the developer.
Just in case somewhat thought otherwise, I don't have any relationship with the developer. Actually I don't even know him!!

Re: Go Scoring camera app
I tried the trial, but it doesn't seem to be able to take a picture, since I don't see the buttons for taking it.
I managed to get one through the gallery, and it almost got all stones right. There was a zone with glare that it thought were white stones.
After correcting that, it scored it right.
A pity this requires an internet connection. Otherwise, I think it could be very helpful.

Re: Go Scoring camera app
It has a picture button on my screen, maybe yours isn't big enough... I don't know.
I agree on the point about internet but I don't know if some devices would have enough strength to make the interpretation correctly and at a reasonable speed. Light glares and "missplaced" stones are this apps weakness...
