Recently I found out that my style is very similar to Kong Jie, and it is quite nice to replay his games.

But is this for real? Taken from wikipedia
Kong Jie is considered to be an expert at life and death problems.[4] In China he is known as the King of Tsumego (King Kong).

King Kong nickname is a big

An Younggil 8p said in a game commentary:
Kong Jie's style of play is just like a textbook on Go. Thick and solid, very good at counting and endgame. However, he sometimes makes mistakes when he's in time trouble.
Maybe that's part of why you like replaying his games?

First reaction of a native Chinese speaker is that it's probably vandalism. King Kong is (as far as I know) translated as Jin Gang - Kong and Gang are pronounced very differently in Chinese.

I did a bit of research, Kong Jie's nickname is apparently xiaomei (little beauty) -.- A less-known nickname is apparently big brother (presumably due to his strength, and not a reference to 1984).

On Chinese forums, he is usually referred to as Stewardess (because the pinyin is also Kong Jie) :p

wow. that is quite informative.

No idea about the nickname of pro...

why is his nickname Little beauty? xiaomei....lol

Yea, solid and balance, reasonable. Sometimes he makes slow move but solid, I understand his approach to the game better than those fighting game by Lee sedol.

Xiaomei is apparently because he was described as a "meishaonian" (handsome youth) in an article, and then I guess it was a nickname given by friends in jest :p
