Error: "Software caused connection abort: recv failed"

Error: "Software caused connection abort: recv failed" while communicating with the server. You must login again.

So, as the topic say, I've been getting this error a few more times to my liking as of late. Also playing has felt more laggy than, say, a few months back. A few times I've lost on time when the timer suddenly drops to 0 when it still shows I have more than 5 seconds left on byo-yomi.

Does anyone know what might be causing this, or is there a chance it's only on my end?

Weird, I've never seen that error before. But it sounds like the internet between you and KGS is having trouble somewhere for sure.

This has been happening to a friend of mine since KGS switched ISPs. She's pretty much been unable to play at all on KGS. Still checking every few weeks, but no improvement, so she says. It always starts with lag, which increases quickly, and then it's followed up by a disconnect with the above error message.

I get it if I cut off my internet.

This happens to me ALL THE TIME... er... about once or twice a week.

It is incredibly annoying, particularly when it happens mid-game.

this is a connection issue when the client is expecting a response (keepalive maybe?) from the server and the packet doesnt arrive. easy to try out by just pulling out the lancable when logged onto KGS.
