But it is really interesting that they were born on the same date (May 24, 1989), isn't it?

Also, according to the Nihon Kiin, a male pro shogi player has married a female pro go player before, but this is the first time that a male pro go player has married a female pro shogi player.

Wonder if they teach each other their respective games.

Lets see if they get married on 24 May, to save all the quibbling about remembering anniversaries and birthdays.

Actually ........ while it might seem an amazing coincidence for some particular married couple that they were both born on the same day if you think about it differently ...........

There are only 365 (sometimes 366) different days in the year and people getting married are usually within a few years of age one way or the other so a reasonable fraction would be the same age. So out of every several thousand married couples you'd expect at least some with the same birth date.

I think marrying someone in a similar field to yours is brilliant, they'll be able to understand each other's stresses without the possibility of competing with each other directly.
