Hi, the new version of Drago is ready. Main new features are:
* One click search mode (similar to the one from kombilo)
* Better display of stones with possibility to use custom stone bitmaps.
More and download at
http://www.godrago.netLooking forward to your feedbacks.
Edit: URL fixed. Thanks a lot for pointing the typo and giving the right URL.

<edit>Oh, and sorry for being impolite.
Thank you. I’m a Mac user and have no real use for Drago, so this may be the reason, but no excuse

Gilles, I like Drago. Some possible improvements:
a) Can you implement a Fullscreen mode?
b) Can you make 9x9 or 13x13 boards stretch to the full screen?
c) The dots for counting area on intersections are way too small!
d) Please make the fonts in the side bar resizable. They are tiny on my 1920x1200 notebook...
But anyway: Thanks for a good software!
EDIT:
e) Make it crash safe! If drago.exe crashes, the currently played game is lost. Do it like Arena in chess: save to a temporary sgf file after every move!

Gilles, there is a bug. I'm on Win7prox64. The "do not notify again" (on engine resign, pass...) does not work, no matter of you set the checkbox in the message box or if you set it in advanced preferences. You always receive a message box.

Do you mean without the title bar or also without menus, toolbars and statusbar? This would require some more work.
c) The dots for counting area on intersections are way too small!
I plan to have custom markups (as custom stones). This would answer the request.
d) Please make the fonts in the side bar resizable. They are tiny on my 1920x1200 notebook...
In principle, fonts should be resized proportionally with the resolution. Or is it necessary to change the proportions?

I would prefer to make it crash free! However, I cannot guaranty the behaviour of the engines and this is a nice ides which should not be difficult to implement.

Yes, something wrong, should be fixed rapidly. Thanks a lot for reporting.

Hi Gilles,
yes with fullscreen I mean "full emphasis on playing" - i.e. no menus, toolbars, statusbars, - especially no windows title bar. F11 as the typical shortcut for fullscreen, and maybe the possibility to turn on what is needed (e.g. users may want to have fullk screen, but with status bar or sidebar).
As for the proportions, if they are fixed they will not match different machines because: 1920x1200 is different seen on a 22" screen or a 15" notebook... Therefore I think the user should be able to choose the size.
And I have another suggestion, like SmartGo does: in human vs. engine playing, let the engine play timed (and send time commands via gtp to it) but let the human think as long as he wants...
Thanks for your reply
best regards
Michael

I had already a request for that but did not retain it. And if SmartGo implements it...

"Independent clocks" isn't an achievement of SmartGo, I'm sure. I think even my old Mephisto chess computer had those-...
