Places to Play Go in China

This summer I'll be traveling to China. This trip will probably be my only extensive opportunity to study go for the next year so I'm trying to decide what I'm going to do.
My first option is to go to Yan An's go school in WuHan. The problem is that my parents are worried about me staying alone. Also, WuHan is stinking hot in the summer.
My second option is to go to the Gui Zhou go school. My parents would prefer me to go here because I have friends that I can stay with. My issue is that I don't think there will be any English speakers. I am semi-fluent in mandarin, but playing go with other westerners might be better. Also, i'll have to stay with friends so they're probably going to take me to dinner and show me pagodas and stuff. So I might not get as much playing in as I want.
Does anyone know of anything else go related that I can do in China?
