Life In 19x19

I am 9kyu on KGS. I started playing 5 or 6 months ago. On June 8th I'm leaving California to spend 2 months playing go in summer. My time will almost totally be devoted to playing go. We'll see just how much I improve. I'll either be studying at a go school in Wu Han or a go school in Guiyang or maybe I'll spend some time at both.

I'm currently in the process of beginning to read Tesuji and Attack and defense from the Elementary Go Series. I do some Tsumego every few days or so.
I've already read Basic Techniques of Go, Learn to Play GO 1-4 and several beginner books.

Since I won't be at school for 8 hours a day and won't have 4 hours of homework I hope my speed of learning can really increase,. I'll keep you guys updated. I wonder how much learning in China will help. I'll post some games in stuff

Hmmm I wonder if I'll even be able to reach this forum.
I don't know why I'm posting this so soon, I should be studying for APs. I guess I'm just really excited.

L19 can be reached in China, I've posted links to here on Chinese forums. Not sure, but I'm guessing that the largest issue with blocked content would be youtube, facebook, and twitter?

I doubt minor officials in the party gets privileges -.-

No such luck. I once stayed with the acting mayor of a medium-sized city, and his internet made me want to tear my eyes out.

Well actually they don't even praise Mao too much anymore. He's frowned upon for causing the cultural revolution.

I wonder how much I'll improve after 2 months of constant playing, studying and training.

It's just two months so don't get your hopes up too high. I think the important thing is to learn something fundamental there (something western Go maybe often lacks), which helps you pass all the ranks from thereon.
