I'm looking for a magnetic go set that has the following characteristics:

-Magnets inside the stones, so that i don't have to turn a stone when i have to put it on the board

-No thick central line due to board un/folding, so that the board doesn't seem divided in two parts

Suggestions please? ^_^

The trick is going to be finding the style with the magnets in the stones. Myung-In from Korea used to make sets like that, but their new sets have different stones. Your best bet would be to look on eBay for a used set. Make sure you ask about the stones, since the stock Myung-In product photos (which many auctions use) show the old style stones, but the new one-sided stones are in the set.

I think the best magnetic set that is available new at this time is this large magnetic set sold by YMI. It does not meet your stone requirement, but has everything else covered and is a nice size for playability.

I have a friend who uses this, the stones feel good and it's bigger than the link before, with no line through the middle unlike the other one. The stones are already have the magnets in them and it's good for anything from traveling, to putting it on your refrigerator.

He was asking for stones that can be placed both ways up, I think. I have one very similar to this one, although mine didn't come from YMI. These have the magnet slightly visible, and I'n not sure if the stones will stay in place the same way if they're upside down.

Make your own. Buy magnetic disks in bulk, spray paint them black and white. Draw a grid on a thin piece of steel or plastic magnetic panel.

There are literally hundreds of outlets for disk magnets. If you need 400 of them, you can find a decent price. Shipping could be expensive.

Do you know if that one has the type stones you wanted? Fully enclosed magnets that work either way up?

I only see a small picture of the box, that's why I asked.

Congratulations. I've got that set from MVP. Bought it from Yutopian at the (I think) 1996 Congress in Seattle. I've played on it often but I dropped it once. Try not to drop the thing.

It seems that you already have a set you like, but someone just posted a set that might correspond to what you wanted: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=7407&p=122550#p122550

I found this doing a quick amazon search. Maybe the separation between the two halves isnt as seamless as it could be. but it looks pretty high quality for a magnetic set.
