1001 GoGoD Games for your Coffee Break #24 (6 Feb 2013)

Accurately describing what is going on here, in a 2006 Meijin preliminary game, maybe takes more effort than I'm capable of, but if we invent the words ladderer and ladderee, it's an example first of a ladder that doesn't work for the ladderee, who makes himself look dumb in the process, starting with move 145 and putting a big group in atari, but then he switches to another ladder where he is the ladderer. Yet this ladder doesn't work either! But two dumbs make a belle and the climax of the procedure on 177 produces a beautiful finish, which frankly should have been much better known already. It was first highlighted by Yuki Satoshi but nevertheless, as a mere Kansai Ki-in game, it was destined to remain poorly known until T Mark spotted it for GoGoD.
Enjoy!

Very nice! I'd missed this when first posted, and found it with all the recent Sekiyama talk.

Fascinating! At what point did white smell trouble?
