You know, telling you not to run, not to make broken shape...

Myself. I play my Go. It seems too hard to me to figure out what you should do even without having to think about what someone else, who's stronger than you, would do.

Hm, hard to say. I do replay a lot of Shuei's games right now so I'm sure that this somehow influences my game. On the other side I do not really understand his game, so I could totally make that up.
One pointer towards the latter is that I prefer to play cool-looking moves instead of plain ones =D

I'm sure most of the choices on the list would leave in disgust before I start middlegame

If I'm thinking about any higher concept at all while playing, it's to have NO broken shape of my stones.

There's this 3d at my local go group, where I haven't showed up for so long... He is very good at explaining and took time to introduce me to the game even when I was a hopeless 30k. He's the voice in my head that say "keep connected!". I always come stronger out of his teaching games.
If I have any kind of long term goal in go, it is to have the pleasure of playing him in an even game some day (kinda more fun than just: being a dan player. But it looks very far away.)

Considering I actually go "doot-doot-doot" while I read, I have to say Batt.
I'd like for my angel to be 90's Lee Changho. His play is solid and deep, I'd love to emulate it.
Lee Sedol is the devil on my other shoulder telling me that Whites group only has 1 1/2 eyes and room to run so I should be able to kill it.

I feel entirely the opposite. When I play, I often ask myself, "What would stronger players say I should be doing at this point?" That, or "What
shouldn't I play, because it would cause a stronger player reviewing the game to recoil in horror?"
Not that it seems to help much.

Kage isn't a choice?!?
Seriously, I chant this stuff to myself.
1. White's thickness is superior.
2. If you want to capture, hold out two fingers.
3. If your eyes start to tingle, visit your optometrist immediately.
I also play a lot of handicap games at my club (9, 9, and 3 today) so the ideas from the handicap book are always close to home.

I don't think I have an angel....
I do, however, have a little psychopath/devil saying "kill, kill, kill!"

I hear her voice chastising me even before playing a move, and sometimes still click on the spot just to see what will happen.
Ed, you are picking up votes here. You must be a good teacher!
