Do the players see the board from the same perspective when playing online?

I'm fairly sure they do on any server I've ever visited. I guess anything else raises more problems than it solves for any kind of board commenting etc.go-master wrote:Do the players see the board from the same perspective when playing online?
I have used an igs client that rotated it.amnal wrote: I'm fairly sure they do on any server I've ever visited. I guess anything else raises more problems than it solves for any kind of board commenting etc.
The "squares" on a goban are slightly rectangular so that when viewed from the players' positions (looking down on it from behind) they will appear as squares.bgrieco wrote:OTOH, gobans aren't drawn with the perspective they should have. A Goban isn't a perfect square. It's a slight rectangule.
When I review a game on Oro (with preplay) the board is suddenly turned around. So maybe on Oro both players see the game from "their" point of view.amnal wrote:I'm fairly sure they do on any server I've ever visited.
