Help with a US name, please

I have a teaching game by Iwamoto against an American whose name I cannot be sure of in its Japanese version, plus I only have the surname. I would appreciate the full and correct name from those who may know of him.
The name looks something like Kingbark. He was of Russian origin and I assume his name reflects that - his parents fled the Revolution and brought their son up in Nagasaki. He moved to the USA and at the time of this game, 1959, he was working for Bell Telephone in New Jersey. He seems to have been in the same club/area as Robert Ryder 1-dan, and was good enough to play Iwamoto on 7 stones.
Of course, as with Catalin Taranu and others, the Japanese may have confused personal name and surname. The b can be a v.
