If you are involved in broadcasting a national championship or a big tournament, KGS will normally event that game

Not everyone knows how to request this! So see http://www.gokgs.com/help/faq/events.html for details.

Bad news- event isn't a verb.

While this made me laugh, event is used as a verb on the KGS page that was linked to, though it's in quotes there at least. It seems to refer to marking the game as a special event in the system to move it to the top of the games list.

Yeah, whoever wrote that page should probably revisit their ESL class.

Please, this is English, where every word can be verbed. Although verbing does weird language.

Wow, so much critique from such great authorities.
I remember when 'google' was not a word, let alone a verb. And guess what... English is a living language.
So live and let live. This is my ESL advice to all the fearsome grammar pundits out there. Live and let live. ;)

But event is a verb...

It's just not used much outside of upper class English equestrian circles...

There are many beautiful words that can be used instead, which are already verbs. Let's find them... together! :study:

Hehh... had a friend once. He was developing games. Once he wondered about the name of his new card game. During the brainstorming I was part of, we realized that each time you add 'together!' to the end of a game name it sounded cheesy. The only worse thing to add was 'in tights!'.

Not sure why, but your post just reminded me of that episode. ;)
