Hardcore holiday
A 5D player named Coolbabe did 49 games on KGS yesterday. He played from 9:34am to past 1 this morning. Sixteen solid hours of go!

Re: Hardcore holiday
He could only get in 49 games in 16 hours?
Still officially AGA 5d but I play so irregularly these days that I am probably only 3d or 4d over the board (but hopefully still 5d in terms of knowledge, theory and the ability to contribute).

That person ought to be careful.
I got my deep vein thrombosis in 2010 while sitting for ~18 hrs playing Civilization V with only short pauses. Not funny.

Wonder what the symptoms are if a bot has DVT, though …

Don't think so. He makes the same kind of mistakes that I do. Not as many of them tho.

Re: Hardcore holiday
I couldn't resist checking on coolbabe. I downloaded his record from KGS Analytics. He turns out to be quite a character. He actually played 53 games on November 30th (using the time stamps in the downloaded csv file). But quite frankly that's nothing. Last year on July 28, coolbabe finished his first game of a series at 15:00. He finished his 92nd game in that series at 13:29 on July 29, after 22 1/2 hours of roughly continuous play!
(the longest gap from one game-end to another in that period was 46 minutes, but since it was the fourth game of the series he probably didn't yet need a nap). Average game time was just under 15 minutes. But lest you think he is one of a kind, bear in mind that 62 of those games were played against qwest. At one point they played 46 games in a row against each other. That's friendship!
Our hero, coolbabe, appeared on KGS in August 2008. Up to a few hours ago, he had played 6,095 games on 363 out of 1,937 days. There are some pretty long gaps in his record, but when he comes, he comes to play. He has played 20 or more games in a day 129 times, accounting for 4,003 of his games. Within that group, he has completed 40 or more games in a day 25 times. I don't know how his mouse hand can handle it!

Re: Hardcore holiday
Preposterous stuff, 60 games is what i play in a span of 2 months xD! I wonder how many energy drink cans he's consuming while playing that insane amount of games in a single day!

He should stream one of these marathon sessions.
We don't know who we are; we don't know where we are.
Each of us woke up one moment and here we were in the darkness.
We're nameless things with no memory; no knowledge of what went before,
No understanding of what is now, no knowledge of what will be.
