I hope we here at the L19 forums are able to be helpful to you in whatever way we can be. I can respect your privacy and obviously you are not required to give us any information or participate in parts of the forums that you are uninterested in. I don't really do anything with the Trading Post, for example.

If some members don't see this and do ask for your rank or to play a game with you then I hope you don't take that the wrong way. Knowing someone's rank is helpful in helping them. For example - when I review someone's game and show them why a move was a mistake I'll probably show multiple variations in depth for a 20-30k player since they aren't as experienced at reading, whereas I'd only show a few moves to a single digit kyu player because I'd assume they can read what I can read. And as for wanting to play games or teaching games that is really more about how go is more fun to play with someone you know. I've set up a few games with folks on the forums here and they are always more enjoyable than playing randomly, so I wouldn't expect a complete newcomer to want to just play games with everyone on the forums. Don't be surprised if your attitude there changes. However, you are free to come and go on the forums as you wish.
