Hi all,
This is my first post.
Would anyone have the time to have a quick look at this game. I played white, even though I won I felt that I made some fairly big errors(lots of overplay) and could have been punished.
cheers,
Tomukaze

Another game of mine that I lost. A bit fighting game but I lost it about half way through. A big ko on the bottom and gave up a huge group. Any suggestions on my biggest mistakes warmly welcome.
thanks!

Just a quick question about the bad shape on the right (the three stones you triangled at move 76), what would have been a better move than move 76 itself?

I don't know what's the best move for :b76: (locally or globally).
The relationship of R7-Q10-Q12 is OK (even a good shape in some situations).
But we see this Q4-R7-Q10 shape (double large knights) often in beginners' handicap games,
and this one is not so good -- on an empty board, either small knight (Q4-R6) or (R8-Q10) is better.

General comments:

Do not be afraid to ignore your opponents move; play a larger move somewhere else on the board. Attack his groups when they are weak and isolated, particularly if you will profit from the attack even if you fail to kill. Try to read a bit more deeply.

Specific comments:

The cut at move 54 was almost the only positive attacking move I saw in the game. Up to move 76, you got a good result from the cut, splitting W into two or three weak groups, while keeping all your own groups strong. But then you failed to follow up on this great preparation with a killing or profitable attack.

Look at the weak W group in the upper left after move 75. Surely you can kill this group. In the actual game, W got to play here first and barely lived. (Actually W would have died if B played move 110 at H19, killing two birds (eyes) with one stone.)

And what about the other weak W group on the left side? Attacking that group from the outside would make a lot of territory and thickness for B even if it managed to live. A move like B8 could hardly fail to be profitable.

The final fight was not really ko if you read a little deeper. See what happens if B just starts filling outside liberties (say at move 174), letting W win the ko. (Note the corner tesuji at S1 after most of the W liberties are filled, threatening a snap-back and reducing W to one eye.)
