This was an exciting match to watch. If there is a professional commentary somewhere, I would be interested in reading it. The live spectators on IGS (up to 6D) were completely wrong in their assesment of the situation, thinking W had won until a few moves before the end

At move 114 we thought W had settled the left side, not noticing that in reality he still needed another defensive move. After move 128, we thought B was in trouble, at best living in gote with too little territory. We saw the ko at O5 but underestimated its severity.

I saw this game replayed live on IGS. It was an amazing game and I've been hoping a site like GoGameGuru would do a commentary.

One can only hope. :)

I was also sure Black had lost until the end. If you look at it again knowing the result, the whole game seems to change mysteriously. Loads of fighting in this one.

and interestingly, after the second to last branch in my database search diverge at :w10: (w played a two space extension instead of the keima slide in that one), the exact same moves follow in the last remaining match, including :b13:, until this game becomes unique at :w20:, which was alternatively played one space lower and closer at C12

the second to last match was Sakai Hideyuki (b) - Kato Atsushi at 5th Phoenix Cup in 2004,
the last one Sakai Hideyuki - Ogata Masaki in 34th Meijin league in 2009

these games didn't start with a black komoku, but with a black star. however, as of move 4, the positions were the same as in this Meijin title match. both games were won by black, which may not be of statistical significance
