Here is a game from today... many mid-game mistakes and such, anyone have a few comments? I included the comments from our review which included a 2D who was watching.

One thing to realize. When Black attaches at :b1: below, White should not answer at :w2:. In GoGoD there are no examples where White plays an immediate :w2:. Instead White attaches at :w4: first in order to test Black's response. The reason is that if White exchanges :w2: for :b3: first, Black should not answer :w4: right away. Playing out immediately is much more interesting because the play at "a" is left in the corner for aji. If needed, can still play "b", threatening to capture the corner with "a" next. However, notice that "c" threatens the same thing and may be even more helpful on th outside. White can play at "b" in order to secure the corner but only at the cost of allowing Black to make two moves in a row on the outside. BTW, note that with this pincer Black can play out as far as "d" as an alternative to :b5:.
