An opportunity for someone perhaps?

As the display is 20 by 23 pixels, and the technical interfacing work has already been done, it would be eminently practical for a 19x19 game.

I'm not from the US of A, but large numbers of people on this forum are. Somebody might want to pick this up and run with it?

Makes me wonder how many traffic accidents that caused.

That's so old idea. The students at Tampere University of Technology did that already in 2007.

Here's an article (in Finnish) about it: http://www.digitoday.fi/viihde/2007/12/ ... 0730910/66

e: there are also several videos on Youtube. Here's one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dS7TZ1RmJzE

Search for "Mikontalo lights" or "Mikontalo Tetris" for more.

In a similar vein there's the prank someone pulled of writing to the occupants of a tower block posing as the electricity company and asking the various flats to turn their lights on or off at a particular time, spelling out a certain 4 letter work across the city :)

Indeed.
And the article comments include: Berlin 2001, Paris 2002, MIT 2012.

So it's fortunate I didn't suggest it was an original idea.

I did think the fact that the article suggests that the people in Philadelphia were actually looking for new game suggestions for this year, means they are open to ideas. So I thought it was an open door that just needs to be pushed against. An opportunity, if you will. Some people like to promote Go, to get more people to play.
