There seems to be a team (Malkovich?) game running in a Korean web go forum called "DC inside baduk gallary"
I found it quite interesting, and maybe people here would also like to see it (or maybe join..?), so anyway I decided to make some introduction to it.

The rules are very simple. There are two teams with 6+ players each, balenced in their strengh based on Tygem ranks. Any player can anytime play one move one day in text replies with short comments. A user will then "visuallize" the moves, making an image of the board with moves played. Open book, and cheating from pros is allowed. You can see how it works here (1 2 3)

The hidden tag below shows the players of the team and their strength.
All ranks are from Tygem.

Team White

수퍼초딩 (superkid) 4dan
베이베 (babe) 4dan
순간. (moment) 7dan
defm 10kyu
에이 (hey) 3dan
5집 (fivehouses) 6dan

Team Black

NumberSix 4dan (overall manager and "visualizer")
베버안 (weber) 2dan
ns 5dan
통통통이야 (tongtong) 3dan
노쨩 (nojjang) 7dan
염원을담아라 (wish) 2dan

And here I made a the game into a sgf file including translated comments from the players. Let me know how you like it.

I find the game itself is pretty interesting, and the format more so.

People in baduk gallery seem to welcome L19ers to join this game, and there was also an idea of a team match between L19 and BG (baduk gallery) in a similar format.

I think the (L19 vs BG) team match would be interesting and fun, so I wonder if anyone here are also interested at it. You don't need to register or speak Korean to join. The game will go on with text replies like [b k10]. All you need is to know how to read and write go coordinates used in KGS.

The average go strength of Korean players are better than L19 (Tygem 3~6d), but there are many L19ers also with the similar rank, and the active discussions done here must be a plus factor. I believe the game will be balanced enough.

Five or more people from L19 should be enough to start this game. Please leave a reply or a PM if you would like to join this game, or if you have some good ideas or questions. With enough people to start, I will later post detailed information of how this game will be played.

I'm Tygem 4d and I think it would be fun!

Interesting idea! What these Korean teams seem to be doing however, is more like a free-for-all rengo than a Malkovitch game. What it looks like is that anyone who wants can make a move, and there isn't much discussion as to why and what might be better. While this can be fun, I personally find the idea of a Malkovitch contest between "us" and "them" quite a bit more interesting. Have any of theses Korean players seen a Malkovitch game here on L19? Perhaps you could propose a Big Brother Malkovitch game, which might also reduce the possibility of a slaughter... there is also the question of translation.

Maybe there should be a similar game here between NA members and European members on L19 :) preferably limited to dans so we get a great game to learn from.

That's also an interesting idea, but what is particularly intriguing about lovelove's proposal is the idea of making contact with another big group of people. There are quite a few L19 members who speak some Korean, and I'm sure that there are plenty of English speakers amongst the DC Inside Baduk Gallery members as well. Wouldn't it be great to make some new connections?

Hello. This is hey from the DCinside Baduk Gallery. As introduced in the Gibo, I am Tygem 3d and participating in the currently going black-white competition on white side. This is to encourage people here to join the match between L19 and BG. lovelove posted in the BG forum to help him to do so :) Many people in BG liked his idea and said they would love to have relationship with L19 people, and would gladly join the team match. I hope this would be an opportunity to meet other players who also love GO and would like to have fun while discussing GO moves and enjoy the match!

I just read this post in DCinside Baduk Gallery.
I think that this kind of interaction between L19 users and DC Baduk Gall users is very positive.
Though my english skill is not so good, i can give some advices for this game.
My baduk rank is tygem 9d, and i have some experience in teaching Baduk.

I heard that L19 is the biggest baduk webpage in the English-speaking world.
I hope that this game would be a good opportunity of communicating :)

Cool idea, I'd play in a L19 vs DC team game.
