He should have played away, but this is still a good thick move, that defends his five stones hard as it cancels a ton of aji.
Now what to do? I was thinking of keepin it on in the lower right corner or approaching the lower left corner, wit the move i prviously thought of
For the lower right i was thinking of some trap that maybe he doesnt see 25, but i dont know if i just trap myself or kill my aji there, cause if he plays 24 at 25 i won nothing and his move 18 indicates that he plays safe. Maybe if I have as group to the north of his pincer stone around a i can threaten something .
F4 my screen is dying on me...often it goes black and changes the frequency. now the screen is blurred and even in bios the characters aren't right...puh i dont want to buy a new one
I'm in vacation right now, hence the slow posting. Hope the move isnt as slow as me. I'll maybe go to the Florence Go Club today as I'm on my own since noon.
I also thought about something like S16, but i dont want to plaz it right now with the left open, also a gote trap preparation at Q4. The F4 L3 distance is still vulnerable, if i got some stength first I can invade there later. On the left E 11 or invading the corner now are big.
I'm approaching from this direction, cause i want to have the other one as he always pincers. I couldnt jump out
I think he will, pincer again as he always does and this time i maybe have to take the corner, so it's basically a question between these two., which side i like better.
I like the rigth side more , cause his very big moyo at bottom right looks more threatening.(first diagram.) I think second diagram will happen, but i can also live with third diagram. The best diagram for me is the last one, but hat won't happen as he surely will pincer and i don't see a good way to work with my approach stone after the pincer. Ther is not much future in jumping out at 4.
Why did i confine myself to the upper right corner?
- It's the only open area left on the board. If he gets an half-enclosure there he will build considerable strength if i inade there later. I dont see any urgent areas elsewhere. If he plays something like R5 it sure hurts, but i can live down there.
Why did i only consider the "boring" standard low approaches? - I didnt want to play a wider approach cause then his other corner groups would work better as pincers and I didnt want to play high cause there is nothing to work with on the other sides. Maybe that is no good reason as with an high approach i could have canceled a moyo he got there. but I think as im surrounded by black groups i need a base before destroying potential. A 3 / 3 invasion would be bad caus he can use the influence too good.
Of what i can also think is a change of direction, instead of sansan after he pincers my play.

edit 1:
What i would like to see, but for that he must block on the wrong side. something similar to standard 3/3 joseki and , but he's got and i got sente for something.
For the really complicated stuff there is now the question if 3 shouldnt be at 5 cause of his pincers. but i think that my first approach gives me a quite large corner, so i have to check in a bit in this case and live with his moyo or hope to invade there later. Same reasonings are true for him pincering again at 2., also possible variations at f or g
too lazy to read. i'm feeling to play there because white has too many weak groups (two top-right, one lower right). something has to give in the long run. no need to rush...
this was hard for me to decide the next move. i tried to read a few steps ahead, but then everything came down to chaos, i was helpless. can anyone help me with finding plausible continuations? not now, but could someone please after the game point in the right direction?
first i had to look what's weak and what's strong. my groups all seem alright. white has some issues in the right corners, but the weakest seems the left side to my eyes (and espescially the marked stone). my first thoughts were a,b and c. a lets white build a wall towards my tengen. c is not a threat, gives sente to white. b seems perfect: either i get a wall towards my tengen or i'll cut off his marked stone.
This move is really hard. I thought of junpin out, getting strength and are more likely to invade at h3, but in the end i think i only get a weak d7 group and a weak h3 group. So i rather connect,
