Anyone else playing Hearthstone and crafting decks? Add your info here.

I've actually found it to help my Go a bit. This is the first card game I've played beyond 10 games, and it's been a fascinating adventure. I especially enjoy reading ahead, just like Go, and something that would be interesting that I haven't spotted anywhere just yet is for someone to create tsumego for various deck/board scenarios. It's also a refreshing break from APM-intensive games like SC2, which is nice.

Still feel like a 25k, so if anyone's got any tips/tricks they're willing to share here, please do so!

Yeah, I was surprised how addicting this game could be. I've gotten in a few dozen games and it's been cutting into my go studies, but it's a lot of fun.

I played Magic: The Gathering a good amount in middle school and Yu-Gi-Oh! from late elementary school and then on and off into college so I have a lot of experience with card games like this. It has a strangely unique feel considering how similar it appears when compared to Magic.

There is a similar strategic feeling to go. You need to read and you almost can even with the RNG considering each player only has 30 cards and there are a lot of class specific cards. The game definitely has a solid early to middle to late game progression that Yu-Gi-Oh tends to lack.

My favorite class of deck is the Priest. Second favorite is Shaman.

I play as well and so far I like it.

I've played TCGs pretty much my whole life and Heartstone fits right in, though I feel like its a little oversimplified when you compare it to Magic.

Still, a lot of fun so far.

ig name is the same as here.

I am playing it. Quite fun (as always with Blizzard games) and enjoying it quite a bit.

As someone who played magic for many years, hearthstone felt like "magic-lite" to me. I was actually surprised how many things are so similar to magic, they even kept summoning sickness. It was fun for a bit, but not enough to hook me.

A game that DID hook me, with a unique card-game / board game / RPG hybrid and fun visuals, was Cardhunter:

http://cardhunter.com/

If you like hearthstone definitely check it out. Basically you build a team with three members, and you fight on a square grid, but each character's moves and attacks come from a deck of cards built by the items they equip. So boots give you various running options, shields give you block cards, weapons give you attack cards. It's freemium like hearthstone (and apparently every game nowadays), but it's a fun and imaginative take on the genre I thought.

Alternate viewpoint, I was upset with how different it was compared to magic. I walked in thinking the same principles would apply and I would steamroll for free wins.

but lingering damage seems to have a bigger effect than I thought.

And the struggle for board control.

it feels very different to me.

I'd say it was cutting into my go time, but really it's been cutting into my league of legends time which has been cutting into my go time.

Also I reeeally liked card-hunter, and I definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys those turn final fantasy tactics-esque games.

I've been watching streams, haven't taken the plunge yet though. War Thunder was eating up some of my time (WWII era combat flight sim), now it's mostly playing with circuits in Minecraft. My son asked me to play the game with him, I looked at the potential of the redstone mechanics and became quite interested. I do see myself giving Hearthstone a good go though, too many years sunk into Warcraft I-III, WoW, SC and SC2 not to take the bait.

I'm pretty sure if you sign up at the site you could get a key real fast.

They said they would send everyone a key by the 7th

I play a little bit of Hearthstone, it's fun and the games are quick.

By the way, right now, Trump, one of the most famous Hearthstone broadcaster on Twitch is streaming go for thousands of viewers!

Got my key at the end of the closed beta, have been playing a fair bit. Good fun, it definitely helps to have previous CCG experience I think.

^- This. ugh. They need to be more discerning with the beta and not let me in.

And I agree with the Magic-lite feeling. I miss some Magic dynamics, but really enjoy the speed and lack of mana-screwage.

I am another player of Hearthstone :salute:

My brother installs it in my tablet, the first days I thought that it is a idiot game but I didn't want uninstall it for my brother. After he back to his city and I begin to play it...

I do 2-3 games per day. If I am not to think to play a game of go, I play more. I can describe me like a player that make a mission of day or acumulate 2 mission to make.

I am "Darsey" in Heartstone.

..........
And I recomend this page to organize our collection and see decks.
