Thanks! Link for Fujisawa's latest game opened right to default sgf viewer (nice) but, in the game info instead of Park Jieun it says her opponent is Rui Naiwei - that can't be right can it? Rui is in a whole different bracket. Unless. Omg, has she already dispatched Naiwei as well!? :o

It's a funny error but that is the game I saw yesterday of Fujisawa Rina against Park Jieun.

17-year-old Ichiriki Ryo might be the hero Japan needs. His record is 10-2 (international) and 37-10 (domestic). He's like the only Japanese actually winning anything in international tournaments. His opponents aren't the best pros, but that's still very impressive.

Then there is 15-year-old Fujisawa Rina, the granddaughter of Fujisawa Shuko, who's also showing quite a performance. Go Japan!.

16 year old Kyo Kagen was the runner up in Globis and went undefeated for the Japanese team in Chinese City league. It's almost as impressive as Ichiriki. Ida Atsushi had a rough time in Honinbo against Iyama but his run in the Honinbo league was excellent. There are quite a few young Japanese players playing well.

I just have a feeling Ichiriki is the better kid. Probably because he BEAT Kyo Kagen in that final.

Does anyone know when will the games start on Tygem/Wbaduk? BadukTV says the live TV broadcast starts at 11am KST, but the relay on Tygem/Wbaduk seems to start later.

Oh gosh, lol. Thanks for the clarification guys, with the mix up couldn't bring myself to look at the game until I knew exactly what it was I was looking at.

OK popcorn and time to see how our gals mixed it up on the board.

Nope, a poor day for Japan! Only two of the the old guys, Komatsu Hideki and Goto Shungo, made it through to tomorrow's final.

Trivia: if Ichiriki remains in the list of most international wins through the end of the year (some years 8 or 9 will get you on the list, other years you need 13), he will be the first Japanese player to do so since Nakano Hironari in 2007 and Cho U in 2006.

It's a position the sponsor gets to choose to get some more attention.

It's my imagination or lately wild card just means LCH?

Hmmm...
I think I like 'Lambretta Club Hellas' best. :)

If so, the answer would be no.

I wasn't meaning always, his name just ringed me as more frequent wildcard since his, well, slight fall from the top. I searched quickly here in L19 for wildcard and wild card and he has been 3 times, if I didn't miss anything, making him the wildest. It was just subjective feeling anyway.

I don't see this mentioned anywhere. There's a triple-ko game:

Komatsu 9p seems to be almost as much a regular as Lee chango in recent times. Strangely enough, he didn't qualify this year, but another Japanese player (excuse my ignorance for not knowing goto shungo) qualified. Compare with the main draw and female draw  .
