Hello Everyone!

I have been struggling to find the time to do, well, anything. Since my twin boys have been born (they are 11 months old now) it seems like my life has been thrown into chaos. I can't seem to find a spare minute anywhere. How do you guys manage your time? Could this just be part of becoming a parent? Is there a light at the end of the tunnel? j/k But really guys, how do you organize yourself to use your time more efficiently?

I do most of my schoolwork at school so that leaves about 5-8 hours at home for:

Doing Life and death in the shower (Yes, I do this. No, my phone doesn't get destroyed.)
Doing tesuji before sleeping
Watching baduk TV and lectures while eating
Staying in kgs rooms and occasionally playing but mostly not playing
"Quickly" going over pro games once a day. (Not anything detail or a review, but just an outline of how it went and an "Oh, I never thought of that move before." or "What would I do here?"

I find that the less free time I have the more time is spent to studying Baduk.

Cherish those moments now you think you have free time. During all my life I've had the impression I didn't have enough time but I would manage better at the "next life step" (from school to university? less studying stupid subjects and only interesting stuff!! from university to masters/PhD? less studying stupid subjects, no classes! from masters to freelancing? no studying, no teaching, my own schedule!) and reality hits, and hits hard: you'll have increasingly less available time, and life won't be as easy/manageable as it was. And very fast.

well, after my son was born I did not play another game for about six years. So I guess you, with two boys, have another eleven years to go.

Still officially AGA 5d but I play so irregularly these days that I am probably only 3d or 4d over the board (but hopefully still 5d in terms of knowledge, theory and the ability to contribute).

I am getting the feeling these words might just be predicting my future... lol

I went through life expecting it be a journey through a valley, looking at waterfalls and sunsets. At some point, I was kidnapped by deranged monkeys on LSD, who kept me prisoner in a cave.

I came to appreciate that there is beauty in caves as well as waterfalls.

I only work 4 days a week. I live alone and I have no social life. I still never have any time.

the answer is quite easy, you need to live at the frontier of a black hole, so that you will have more time.

You know, I've had a similar experience -- and what I've decided is that I only have time to do a few things, if I want to do them as well as I'd like. A very few things, like two, or maybe three, compared to what I remember doing before I had a son. So now my primary activities, outside of work, are taking care of my son and playing Go twice a week. Still feels like I'm trying to keep two groups alive, perhaps Go will be sacrificed, and there's always stuff like laundry getting in the way, but for now I haven't lost any major groups.

Think of what you're willing to *not* do, perhaps.

Edit: I should add that I've been able to increase my time spent playing Go from once to twice each week as my son got older... that's the light at the end of the tunnel

In my case, I generally have time for personal activities after my kids go to bed.

Still, no one else replied in a way I would expect: later, when you have more time to play go, you will cherish the time and moments you spent with your sons!
And also wonder how time flew when they were young, and why you don't see them as often as you then like.

Teach them Go as soon as they are old enough. You will not regret it.

I live at home with an 15-month-old nephew and his mother (i.e., my younger sister). Since most of the family pitches in to help with the babysitting and the little one spends some time playing on his own, I have some time to devote to the game.

The above quote is pure truth. Children grow up quickly and, before you know it, they grow wings and fly away. Then we think that time passed too quickly.
