How would you conjugate the word teunki, assuming we can reasonably use it as a verb?

Present tense:
I tenuki
You tenuki
He/she tenukies
We tenuki
you tenuki
They tenuki

Past tense:
I/you/he/she/we/you/they tenukied

Please note I would rather not write, "I play tenuki" and conjugate the word play. That gets boring in subtitles.

Thanks.

Well, it is not a verb. Not even in Japanese. So it cannot be conjugated. Also, given that Japanese words do not change their form I would have to say that if you are going to use it as a verb then it shold remain unchanged and if you really want to emphasize person and tense then you must use a form such as He played tenuki.

Whether tenuki is a verb in Japanese or not, in English we use it as one, and your conjugation sounds fine. If you want to avoid the tiresome discussion about the misuse of foreign words, you could use "play away" or "play elsewhere." Who said subtitles need to be exciting?

He tenuki, I tarzan.

There is your problem! Googling is dangerous. You should startpage.

Nope, no problem here :)

Well, that seems quite impossible since I always launch my browser with three windows and an insane number of tabs (as if three windows weren’t already insane) :)

But I notice that you apparently visit the internet with a typewriter or perhaps rather a Telex device — two spaces after a full stop … that explains a lot ;-) Loading a page must be terribly loud, though …

You’d have to ask the good doctor for this to be sure, but I’d assume it means “the” page we can set to load when starting a browser (or opening a new window or tab). For me, that’s about a dozen tabs in three windows which I regularly reload.

Startpage is a search engine, an alternative to google, so DrStraw is just verbing it the same way you verbed google :)

A search engine which does not store everything you search for and sell the information to the world.

Reasonable answer: He tenuki'd. He played a tenuki.

Both work because this is English. If you loan a word into another language, does it retain all of its original properties? No.

I love that everybody has resisted the urge to talk about the Japanese verb that the noun comes from.

Well played, L19

The first one doesn't work because it's apostrophe abuse. In the rare case of a verb ending in -i, ski being one of the few I can think of, you're still going to add -ed to get the past tense.

Then again, I know somebody on another board who consistently uses get's, which enrages me no end.
