Isn't much like looking at a magician work when you play a nine stone game? I lost, but felt good and was so amazed!

The stronger you get, the harder it is to find people who will give you 9 stones... Enjoy it while it lasts.

Online playing schedule: Every tenth February 29th from 20:00-20:01 (if time permits)
I'd be happy to give you 9 stones and lose any time you want.

Still officially AGA 5d but I play so irregularly these days that I am probably only 3d or 4d over the board (but hopefully still 5d in terms of knowledge, theory and the ability to contribute).

It's a good attitude to enjoy the stronger player's strength, rather than to be disappointed by one's own relative weakness, as there'll always be stronger players ahead of you.

There is something special about games where the stronger player leaves you astonished at how he/she achieved something. When you can't quite work it out, it is a kind of 'magic'.

I like to play when the inspiration appears.

Sometimes only once a week.

If we scheduled a game, I might not be in the mood to play when the time comes.

Perhaps someone else will take you up on your offer?

I'd take a game offer against a 5d any day with whatever handicap you like.
However, your online playing schedule is a bit tight. Would February 19th, 2021 work for you?

Side (hopefully relevant) story: The best players where I live currently are 1d, but most of the time I play against 3k or less players. Last week a 5/6d player arrived at the club; he hadn't played a physical game for years. I took 4 handicap and won, but regardless it's been a long time since I felt such tension and pressure in a game. Something happens to your play when you know you'll get eaten up if you take a wrong step, and I love it.

On a related note, I think I lost a stone or two (online, at least) compared with when I arrived one year and half ago despite studying quite regularly, while previously I had access to many 3-5d players.
