Could somebody help us to test this URL:
http://139.162.211.252/ovp/ovp_home/296 ... 176198.mp4
This is a test video on a server in Europe, and we have plan to move the videos to it if the Internet connection is satisfying.

Works good.

Works fine, but too bad that the sound gets cut off at 1:12 (I'm learning Chinese, and it's fun to hear the audio and read the subtitles), but it would also be nice if the subtitles did not cover the board.

I agree about the subtitles. Regarding the sound, I too experienced a sound cutoff (at about four minutes). I think this was related to me pausing the video. I tried it on a different browser, without pausing, and had sound all the way through.

Thank you for the replies.
We are setting up a
mirror site in Europe to solve the connection problem.

WeiqiTV is the name sponsor of the 59th European Go Congress in Liberec,
Czech Republc. There will be promotional acitivties at the Congress. If you
are at the Congress, don't forget to ask for a gift card at WeiqiTV's desk.

I had an odd experience watching this video: http://en.weiqitv.com/video/17 - Go with Jennie (and Ed!) Episode 1. At 20:18, the audio continued, but the video not. In other words, I could still hear Jennie and Ed talking, but the image I was looking at did not change. I reloaded the video (had to sign in again) and was then able to watch the rest of the video normally.

This video was not complete. It was our mistake. They shot 7 separate videos, when we linked them up, we missed one, so the review was not finished. Sorry about that. We'll fix it soon.

I'm not sure that this was the problem. Like I said, after reloading the video, the problem went away. The same problem just happened again. I was watching this video: http://en.weiqitv.com/video/3 and after about 7 minutes, the video froze while the audio continued. Again, reloading solved the problem.

Happy to see this. The CHN version is fantastic. Hopefully this will be successful in English.

It's still there, and although their free test period is over, there are still videos there that you can watch for free: http://en.weiqitv.com/video

Or am I missing something?

It's is said on the site that "New free videos released every month", but the last free video is 6 moths old. The last post in the news section is from July 12. And I can't find a list of the paid content anywhere to check if that content is still updated. All in all, I wouldn't say the site looks particularly alive, to a non-subscriber at least.

WeiqiTV had a lot of personnel changes in recent months. They also moved into a new improved live broadcast studio (the old one was in Chinese Weiqi Association) and moved all their files to a new server and changed their live streaming partner. All in all a lot was happening in the past a few months which even impacted new productions on their Chinese website. My guess is that they will start to shift their attention back to the English website once the situation stabilizes.
